What are template areas?
Template areas are exactly the same as the template areas assigned within manage pages. Have a look there for more information on their function.
The main difference is that changes within the template manager occur across all pages that are using that template (area that are set to default). Of course, it is possible to override these assignments on a per page bases - but this is a good place to set up the default nature of any template, so that when it is assigned to a new page, only minimal effort is required to get it looking and containing the same content as other pages within the site.
Editing template areas
- To edit template areas, click on the template manager menu item on the top of the page.
- Select the template from the current site template scroll pane, and click on the icon (note - this can not be done with templates assigned to the pages module).
- Select the area that you would like to change (based on the template icon above).
- Select the module that you would like to assign to the area.
