The description meta tags of a site sit inside the head section of the sites HTML as follows: 

<head>
<title>The big media company - test</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="keywords" content="keyword, website, CMS" />
<meta name="description" content="This is a description" />
</head>

The sites description is often used by search engines as a quick description when displaying the site within a list of search results. For more explanation, click here.

Editing the site description

  1. To edit the description, click on the site features menu item on the top of the page.
  2. At the bottom of the section, there is a text area labelled description that can be filled with a description.
  3. To save the data, click on the page, anywhere outside the field that has just been edited.
