What is a database?

The Site Foundry application is based on a MySQL database, and this contains all the textual based data, as well as image linking, and image meta data. It does not include the actual image files.

Backing up a database

1. To backup a database, click on the site features menu item on the top of the page.
2. At the bottom of the page, there is a section labelled backup.
3. Click the create a site backup button.
4. This will then save a complete copy of the site database to a safe location on the server.
